About the Ministry
The Kano State Ministry of Livestock Development was established to address the critical role of livestock in the state's economy and food security. Kano State, being one of the most populous states in Nigeria, has a rich tradition of livestock farming that spans generations.
Our ministry was created in recognition of the need for specialized focus on livestock development, separate from general agricultural activities. Since our inception, we have worked tirelessly to modernize livestock production, improve veterinary services, and empower farmers with the knowledge and resources they need to succeed.
Today, we oversee thousands of livestock farmers, manage extensive veterinary programs, and implement initiatives that have significantly improved livestock production and farmer livelihoods across Kano State.
